About Me
Welcome I'm Marianne and I was born in Vancouver. I am very grateful that I have had the gift of an education. A few short years ago Dean Scarfe spoke to my grad class at U.B.C. in 1986 about the importance of play based learning. I’ve been an elementary teacher for 28 years, and I love it! I had the amazing experience to be part of Maxi the Taxi Dog a Social and Emotional Education program. I was inspired to return to university after learning about Mindfulness and teaching Mind Up in British Columbia for six years. My class was featured participating in the program in Scientific American Mind magazine. I’m thankful to Molly Lawlor and Dr. Schonert-Reichl who gave me the gift of courage to return to university to complete my MEd in HDLC. I have 2 children Danielle and Michelle, they are my V.I.P.’s, and have taught me about love and resiliency, and continue to educate me everyday!
